Happy October, Spartans! Spooky season has arrived, and our school is ready to celebrate! From haunted houses to costume contests, this year’s Halloween events bring plenty of thrills (and maybe a few chills). Here is a look at what is happening around campus this month:
This Friday is our Hall of Horrors fundraiser. Stop by the Wellness Center before the final football game to experience a thrilling time. Admission is $2, or grab some friends and go as a group: $5 for four people, $7 for groups of five or more. Afterward, don’t miss our Blackout-themed football game!
Next week kicks off our Red Ribbon Week Spirit Week. You can view the daily themes on Rio Mesa’s ASB Instagram. Make sure to participate for Minga points! Also, if there’s a special boo in your life, you can surprise them with a $5 Boo Bag from Link Crew (can be purchased on 10/27 & 10/28 in the quad).
On October 29th, our annual pumpkin-decorating contest will close for submissions. If you have any creative ideas, stop by the ASB room from Oct 23-29 to pick up a pumpkin—pumpkins are limited, so act fast! The finished pumpkins will be displayed in the quad on Halloween, so stop by and admire all the spooky creations.
Finally, October 31st is Halloween! Wear your costumes to school, and take part in our annual Costume Contest during lunch in the quad. Remember: NO masks and NO suggestive clothing.
Have a safe, fun, and spooky Halloween, Spartans!
